The Studio @ Mount View Lodge is an upmarket pet-friendly studio, featured in the Getaway magazine, and designed to sit unobtrusively in a rural setting.
The Studio is completely off-grid for water and electricity. Water is rain-water, supplemented from our pure borehole. Electricity is solar, and there is a generator for rainy or cloudy times when the solar batteries run flat. It does make some noise, but that's a small price to pay for a gentler way of life!
The setting is safe and peaceful, and encourages rest and rejuvenation. It boasts beautiful views over farmland to the mountains and forests, but is only a 15 minute drive to Sedgefield and 30 minutes to Knysna with their shops, restaurants and surrounding beaches.
The studio offers a spacious and sunny lounge, kitchen and dining area with a fireplace and gorgeous views out over farmland to the mountains. Large windows and doors look out onto greenery planted to encourage birds, butterflies and bees.
A feature bathroom allows you to commune with nature, and luxurious bedding on the King sized bed (or 2 singles) allows for peaceful sleep with only the sounds of nature as your companion.
The kitchen has a 2 plate gas hob, a microwave and decent sized fridge, and is well equipped for stay-in meal prep.
A paved patio area under a pergola has glorious views onto the Outeniqua mountain range, perfect for sundowners and a braai after a day exploring, or for simply soaking up the sun in a quiet and relaxing environment.
The garden is the home of our local sunbirds which you will encounter daily. Plenty other visitors such as hoopoes, kingfishers, Knysna Loeries and plenty others might also bless you with their visit.
