About George
George is a city in the Western Cape of South Africa, on the south side of the lovely Outeniqua Mountains, with around 157,400 inhabitants.
George lies on the coastline around 300 km east of Cape Town on the famous Garden Route. George is the financial capital of the Garden Route. Locally, attractions just like the vast beaches of Herolds Bay, Victoria Bay and Wilderness, the ostrich town of Oudtshoorn and Knysna with its lovely lagoon, have been part of the Garden Route National Park since March 2009 .
The native woodlands with beautiful old yellowwood trees as well as other tree types, the beautiful fynbos with many kinds of proteas , ericas and heaths and a large variety of fern varieties captivate travellers and holidaymakers who adore nature and scenery.
