About MGM Guest House Wilderness
Near George and Knysna on the N2, you’ll find the Mynhardt Guest Manor (abbreviated MGM). The 7 spacious rooms feature stylish, modern, opulent elegance, as well as contemporary appliances, comfy bathrooms with rain showers, and delightful extra-long King size beds.
Private balconies are available for six of the seven bedrooms; a luxury suite with views of the Wilderness Highlands and balmy sun is available for room seven. There is an honesty bar where you can buy some of the best South African wines and enjoy those in your apartment or on the patio with a view of the ocean.
Enjoy breakfast in a seaside dining room with views of the ocean from the comfort of your room, which is just a few steps from the sand. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a glimpse of dolphins playing in the waves as they frolic in the ocean.
We have an oceanfront splash pool where you can cool off after a day at the beach or sunbathing on the deck. Relax on the rooftop sundeck or the splash pool just on northern side of the hotel if you prefer to avoid the sea’s cool breeze.
If you’re a golfer, a vacation in Wilderness could put you within easy reach of some of South Africa’s most popular courses.
MGM’s guest house has on-site parking that is safe and secure.
Our goal is to provide you with an unforgettable experience of first-rate customer service in the midst of unspoiled natural splendor. The Milkwood village, which is just a short walk away, has a plethora of excellent restaurants.
WHAT IS OUR LOCATION?
Among Knysna and George on the Garden Route in the Western Cape, you’ll find us right on the Wilderness Beach. One of the most picturesque spots in South Africa, the Outeniqua coastal highlands and the stunning Wilderness hills are all visible from here. If you’re looking for a place to relax and recharge your batteries, this is a great option.
Naturalists and connoisseurs alike will find something to their liking here. If you’d prefer to stay indoors, you can enjoy a glass of fine South African wine on the deck of your sea-facing room while gazing out at the ocean’s vastness.

About Wilderness
Wilderness is a prominent holiday location along the N2 national highway on the Garden Routein the Western Cape, South Africa, about Fifteen km east of George and 450 km east of Cape Town’s location. Its pristine sand beach with a overall length of eight kilometers and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean help make Wilderness, amongst other things, a place to go for aquatic sports lovers.
The N2 national road divides Wilderness in two – while some residences and motels have been built in a dune section near the beach, the business district and the remaining town can be found along the motorway and lagoon. The lagoon’s mountainous land section features a rich vegetation in its forest areas, for example ericas, ferns, milkwood trees, orchids and proteas. The fresh water of mountain rivers along with the Indian Ocean’s seawater also result in a ideal ecosystem for water wildlife, which include dolphins.
The 2 612 hectare National Wilderness Park is located east of the town and stretches 28 kilometers along side sea. Just about all 230 animal species have been registered here, including 79 of South Africa’s 95 waterfowl species. Book overnight accommodation in Wilderness with Garden Route Stays!
