About George
George is a town within the Western Cape of South Africa, around the south side of the spectacular Outeniqua Mountains, with around 157,400 residents.
George is situated the coast roughly 300 km east of Cape Town on the famous Garden Route. George is the economic capital of the Garden Route. Close by, tourist attractions such as the great beaches of Herolds Bay, Victoria Bay and Wilderness, the ostrich town of Oudtshoorn and Knysna featuring a beautiful lagoon, have been part of the Garden Route National Park since March 2009 .
The local woodlands with regal old yellowwood trees along with other tree varieties, the gorgeous fynbos with a large number of varieties of proteas , ericas and heaths and a large selection of fern varieties attract travellers and holidaymakers who love nature and scenery.
