Parkes Manor House

About Parkes Manor House
Built in 1927, Parkes Manor was home to the Parkes family for three generations and was used as an upscale residence. An early 20th century acquisition of a 12000-square-meter property overlooking Knysna’s lagoon was made possible by the family’s wealth from forestry.
The house had been used exclusively for private purposes for a long time before it was reopened as a luxurious guest house in November of 2013.
For those who prefer to stay in the privacy of their own home while still having access to all the modern conveniences, the manor house features nine luxuriously appointed suites. Each room has its own patio or balcony.
All 3 of their suites have direct access to the lake and the gardens. The view from these suites is spectacular, but they are a little smaller. The six standard suites face the back and are slightly larger. They’re also a lot more discrete.
There is an outdoor porch railing off the dining room on the right side of the house for those lovely warm days. For cold winter nights, the bar and the fireplace lounge can be found on the left side of the house.
It’s possible to access the park-like garden from the stairway, which features an infinity edge pool, a gazebo, and numerous places to relax. Additionally, we have our own golf course for those who enjoy the sport. On-site parking is plentiful and secure, with plenty of room for visitors. In the event of municipal water constraints, a borehole provides an alternative source of water.
Your overnight rate includes a delectable breakfast with a cold buffet as well as hot à la carte options. For both lunch and dinner, a la carte options are available.
Knysna’s town center and waterfront are within a three-minute drive or fifteen-minute walk of our property. Besides that, we also provide local transportation and private day tours.
