The Garden Route’s premier self-catering holiday home, Hamilton House in Wilderness, offers a high level of luxury to guests. All of our suites reflect the tranquility of the Touws River Estuary and the Indian Ocean, which are both just steps away. You can take a short walk to Wilderness’s charming village center, where you can find numerous eateries, pubs and unique shops. With off-street parking available, you won’t need your car.
Hamilton House has four Sea View suites available for couples, small families, and large groups of friends. Each suite has its own special features and is sure to meet the needs of its guests. In order to not miss the perfect sunset, guests can take advantage of free WiFi and USB charging ports in all of the suites.
The opulent Hamilton House’s grand staircase is made of beautiful solid oak. In addition to a shared kitchen, honesty bar, lounge, and dining area on the first floor of the property, there is a large furnished outdoor deck for guests to relax on. An ice maker, wine cooler, and purified water are all included in the Honesty bar’s beverage selection.
When you get to the second floor, you’re greeted with stunning views of the ocean. Guests can relax on the deck’s large 100sqm area, sipping sundowners or simply soaking up the rays. This communal area has a grill for guests to use.
An outdoor braai can be enjoyed by all guests on the garden deck, which is shaded by a large tree at the back of the property.
Our guests have access to free stand-up paddle boards and kayaks.

About Wilderness
Wilderness is a prominent holiday getaway town along the N2 on the Garden Route in South Africa, about Fifteen km east of George and 450 km east of Cape Town’s location. Its pristine sand beach, with an overall length of eight km along with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, help to make Wilderness, among other things, a place to go for water sports lovers.
The N2 national road splits Wilderness in two – while a small number of homes and lodges have been built in a dune area close to the seaside, the business region and the rest of the town are situated along the motorway and lagoon. The lagoon’s mountainous land part boasts abundant vegetation within its woodland areas, such as ericas, ferns, milkwood trees, orchids and proteas. The freshwater of mountain rivers and the Indian Ocean’s seawater also establish an ideal habitat for aquatic mammals, including dolphins.
