About George
George is a city within the Western Cape of South Africa, on the south side of the fabulous Outeniqua Mountains, with around 157,400 inhabitants.
George is situated the sea-coast around 300 km east of Cape Town on the well known Garden Route. George is the economic capital of the Garden Route. In the area, places of interest for instance the broad beaches of Herolds Bay, Victoria Bay and Wilderness, the ostrich town of Oudtshoorn and Knysna with its gorgeous lagoon, have been part of the Garden Route National Park since March 2009 .
The native woodlands with magnificent old yellowwood trees as well as other tree species, the beautiful fynbos with a large number of varieties of proteas , ericas and heaths and a large selection of fern species entice travellers and holidaymakers who appreciate the outdoors and countryside.
