About George

George is a city within the Western Cape of South Africa, around the south side of the fantastic Outeniqua Mountains, with around 157,400 residents.

George lies on the coastline around 300 km east of Cape Town on the renowned Garden Route. George is the financial capital of the Garden Route. Nearby, places of interest for example, the vast beaches of Herolds Bay, Victoria Bay and Wilderness, the ostrich town of Oudtshoorn and Knysna with its gorgeous lagoon, have been part of the Garden Route National Park since March 2009 .
