About George
George is a city in the Western Cape of South Africa, on the south side of the beautiful Outeniqua Mountains, with about 157,400 residents.
George lies on the sea-coast around 300 km east of Cape Town on the well known Garden Route. George is the financial capital of the Garden Route. Nearby, places of interest like the vast beaches of Herolds Bay, Victoria Bay and Wilderness, the ostrich town of Oudtshoorn and Knysna featuring its stunning lagoon, have been part of the Garden Route National Park since March 2009 .
