About Fynbos Ridge Country House & Cottages

Our Plettenberg Bay Country House is a big Cape Dutch style Guest House which includes 4 double deluxe bedrooms and 1 double exceptional luxury bedroom – each with complete en-suite bathroom. Gourmet breakfasts and dinners, upon request, are offered in the outdoor dining area.

There are log fires in both the formal and casual rooms, as well as a large outside terrace where visitors may dine while taking in views of the mountains.

All of the bed – and – breakfast bedrooms are entitled after one of our gorgeous local flowers.

Crassula Room

Crassula is a north facing first floor luxury bedroom with a king-size bed and an en suite bathroom. The Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains may be seen well from this room. Listen to the dawn chorus of the many Plettenberg Bay bird species as you lie in bed each morning.

Felicia Room

Located on the first floor, Felicia has a king-size bed and an en suite bathroom with a north/west facing orientation. From your bed, you can see the magnificent Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains. Relax on your own terrace and see the wonderful African sunsets.

This north faced ground floor exceptional luxury bedroom, features French doors leading onto a porch which overlooks our garden. The extra big king-size bed may be set up as 2 three quarter beds if desired. The bathroom has a window that looks out into a lovely courtyard.

Polygala Room

The Polygala room is a facing south ground floor deluxe bedroom with an extra big king-size bed that may be split up into 2 three quarter mattresses if required. There includes a contemporary en suite bathroom. Lie back and experience the quiet and tranquillity of the surrounding fynbos.

Plumbago Room

The Polygala room is indeed a south facing ground floor deluxe bedroom with an extra big king-size bed that may be made up into 2 three quarter beds if required. There includes a contemporary en suite bathroom. Lie back and experience the quiet and tranquillity of the surrounding fynbos.

Sparaxis Room

Sparaxis is a beautiful west oriented first floor room. The extra big king-size bed may be set up as 2 three quarter beds if desired. Relax on your own terrace and see the wonderful African sunsets.

Self Catering Cottages & Studio/Apartment

One studio / apartment and three two-bedroom cottages make up our Luxury Self-Catering Plettenberg Bay Accommodation. Each large Plettenberg Bay Cottage is fully furnished, has two baths, and accommodates up to 5 people in comfort and luxury. The Studio / Apartment is a big (70 sq. metres) north facing studio/apartment appropriate for two people. It features a private entrance and a balcony with unobstructed views of the mountains, and it is located on the first floor of the Country House. Self-catering guests have access to a well-equipped kitchen, and those who want to dine in may do so at the Country House’s breakfast and dinner stations.

Apart from the stylish furniture, there are log fireplaces in the parlor and main bedroom for the colder nights, and a secluded patio with a built-in BBQ. Each of our Plettenberg Bay bungalows as well as the studio/apartment are all nicknamed after one of our gorgeous indigenous flowers. Although our cottages are fully prepared for self cooking, breakfasts and meals are offered by appointment at our Country House. Meals may also be served to the cottages.

Virgilia Apartment

Self-catering visitors will like Virgilia’s large living and eating areas, as well as its master bedroom and bathroom, both of which are equipped with showers and bathtubs. The Country House may serve you breakfast and supper if you make prior arrangements.

Aristea Cottage

Self-catering or bed & breakfast visitors may stay in this north-facing property in groups of five. King-sized bed in the master bedroom with fireplace and French doors leading out to deck. In your en suite bathroom, relax in a stone bathtub and take in the solitude and quiet. A shower room and two single beds are provided in the second bedroom.

A cozy log fire, DSTV, and a DVD player can be found in the room’s big and inviting sitting area. The patio has a built-in BBQ and unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside.

The Clivia Cottage

The Clivia flower’s peach hues adorn the Clivia cabin, which has a north/west exposure with a table and chairs made of natural Yellowwood. An excellent option to air conditioning during hot weather is to use the ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms as a cooling device. Guests wanting complete peace and quiet will appreciate the private garden accessible from the master bedroom.

French doors go out to the terrace from the master bedroom’s king-size bed and its own log fireplace. Savour the calm and tranquillity when relaxing in the stone bathtub in the en suite bathroom. The second bedroom features a bathroom area, 2 single beds and great mountain views. The big open-plan living space, with log fire, DSTV and DVD player, opens onto the patio with its own built-in barbeque.

Gazania Cottage

In the cottage’s bright interior, the yellow Gazania bloom, the most frequent type, is mirrored in the most prevalent coloration. Enjoy the dawn over the spectacular Tsitsikamma mountains from the expanded terrace, or a sundowner by the built-in BBQ.

The main Gazania bedroom includes a king size bed, private bathroom bathroom with its own fireplace, and French doors leading onto a north- facing secluded patio. The charming second bedroom features 2 beds and great mountain views. The huge open-plan living space, with fire place, DSTV with DVD player, extends via French doors onto the quiet patio. While grilling on the vine-covered terrace, take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The nicely fitted kitchen would delight even the gourmet chef.

This restaurant is a must in Plettenberg Bay. The Look Out Deck offer a culinary masterpiece of dishes, but the best part about it is the view of the crescent-shaped beach at Plett and the surfers. The restaurant is highly recommended at sunset; you can sit together romantically and treat yourself to a glass of wine while enjoying the breathtaking view.

Zinzi
Zinzi is located in the woods of Harkerville and is about ten minutes drive from Plettenberg. The reviews on Tripadvisor are very positive and say that Zinzi is simply great, the food tastes delicious, the location is perfect and the restaurant has a cosy and intimate atmosphere. Right next to the restaurant you will find the Tsala Treetop Lodge, which is one of the most luxurious guesthouses near Plettenberg Bay.
